Museum 't Kromhout
The history of this museum goes back to 1757 when
a ship’s carpenter, Doede Jansen Kromhout, started
a wharf here. Around 1880, additional halls were added
on to the structure, both these are official historic
landmarks.
The first hall is still in use as a wharf. The Oost
Hall is open on Tuesdays as a museum. The rest of the
week the spacious hall with its mezzanine looks out
over the space below where events and diners for up
to 250 persons may be held.
The Museum ‘t Kromhout is an historic maritime
locale on the water in the eastern area of Amsterdam’s
city centre.
