De Vondelkerk bordering the Vondelpark, is one of the many works of the well-known Dutch architect Cuypers, also responsible for the design Central Station and the Rijksmuseum.

The building dates from 1872 and was saved from demolition in 1980. Since then, the church’s nave has been for hire for dinners, receptions, readings and cultural events. Civil marriages may also be held here.
